Tech secrets revealed!

Intuit engineers are known for solving complex problems at the epicentre of financial and economic opportunity with products used by millions of customers. Harnessing sophisticated technology and copious talent is a given on our team but sometimes innovation takes a little something extra. Here are some of the unique rituals that help us get the job done and make us the Best Place to Work in India
(# 1- Great Place to Work Ranking 2017)

Amit Raj

Software Engineer 2,

Intuit India

“Building a service and playing Jenga have more in common than you think - miss a block and the whole thing crashes. Amit, software engineer and adept Jenga-stacker at Intuit, hardly ever lets that happen.”

Working with Small Business Group (SBG) for QuickBooks, Amit builds services that deliver the help content customers routinely use.

Charu Garg

Software Engineer,

“There’s only one way to make sure you get the last cookie - setting an alarm based on a data driven insight. Meet Charu, software engineer at Intuit, who always grabs that cookie at 3:53 P.M.”

Hardly a surprise because Charu’s job involves spotting patterns. She works with machine learning for QuickBooks Online. Using a Naive Bayes Algorithm that recommends services for users depending on their history, she trains her model to analyze millions of data points and interpret it right.

Watch Charu’s video to get a glimpse of her life at Intuit and of course, her numerous alarm clocks.

Parul Jain

Identity and Security

“What better way to spot security gaps than building the model using Legos first? It’s definitely Parul’s go to strategy and she’s the Architect in Identity and Security at Intuit.”

Complex problems and even more complex algorithms to tackle them are an everyday occurrence for Parul. Working with the central team and owning a bouquet of services, she is on a quest to defy the CAP theorem. She and her team are influencing the security infrastructure not just internally but industrywide.

Watch Parul’s video to find out what happens when hackers face an Intuit Architect armed with Lego.

Harpreet Kaur

Senior Software Engineer

“Analog postcards still have their place, and charm, in a digital world especially when they offer insights you don’t find elsewhere. And Harpreet, senior software engineer at Intuit, should know because she’s an expert at mailing postcards and data mining.”

As part of the High Value Customer team at Small Business Group, Harpreet works with the data layer identifying customers who use Intuit’s products most. When the aim is to offer customers services that are most relevant and useful to them, she runs through endless parameters to pinpoint and analyse exactly who they are and what they require.

Peter Thomas

Intuit India

“Inspiration can come from anywhere, even manga and anime. Ask Peter, an Architect at Intuit, who makes being a full stack engineer look as easy as reading Naruto cover to cover.”

The in-house Javascript expert, who maintains and scales the service APIs for desktop and online offerings like QuickBooks Online Accountant, is always looking to improve the standard technology stack. His framework to test web services called “Karate” is open source and has seen adoption across the globe.

Watch Peter’s video to see how he keeps up seamlessly with new technology and the new releases in manga.
